He drove me to it! @ 11:36 am

Current Mood: excited

Cars. My husband loves them. He could talk the hind legs off a donkey about torque, horsepower, and goodness knows what else. What he doesn't realise is that half the time I am sitting "listening" to him, I am thinking about other things. Yes, they're interesting to a point, but I can think of other things I'd rather get excited about.

Which, I imagine, is why I started finding guys who present car programmes attractive. For over a decade, whilst my husband has had the remote glued to his hand,  I have seen programme after programme about cars and if the car doesn't interest me, something has to. If the car and the bloke look good at the same time, even better.

I never thought this would turn into a bit of an obsession!! Now I can't think of many places I'd rather be than stuck in a lift with Jeremy, James, Richard, Tiff, Jason and The Stig. You may as well throw Tom in there while you're at it. if you know who I mean, you know who I mean... and if you don't, all you need to know is that it's my idea of a fun time. As long as they realise if they talk about cars I will be sitting there staring at them and thinking about other things...

They say never mix fantasy and reality and while there was no lift present, I did come within 2 metres of Jason Plato once. I just stood there like a rabbit in the headlights, my kids trying to pull me in one direction and my mind going in all sorts of other directions. You don't need the details. Let's just say it made my day and I don't know what it is but that man is seriously appealing on all sorts of levels.

We came home and set our freeview box to record loads of car programmes, as per usual. It's funny the things that bring a smile to your face... but sometimes I can be quite easily pleased... as long as my imagination is free to roam.

Introduction @ 10:55 am

Current Mood: creative

Life can be full of surprises. One day you can be getting on with your day, cleaning, washing and doing all your daily chores... then suddenly your imagination can catch fire. What once seemed quite an ordinary day can become remarkable, inspiring, even life-changing.

This is what happens to me when I have a dull moment. My mind goes racing...

I have many loves in my life. My family for a start. But the world is a big place... and love can be found in strange places.

This is a story of one woman's realisation that there is more to life than laundry.
